SignBridge: an app that translates Ghanaian Sign Language
Deaf Ghanaians often need an interpreter for a bank visit or a clinic appointment, and there are very few interpreters. SignBridge uses a phone camera to recognise signs and speak them aloud.
We have a working prototype for 300 everyday signs. This campaign pays deaf signers to record thousands more, so the app understands real conversations.
This is a fictional demo campaign: the people, figures and contributions are invented. Photo by Nic Rosenau on Unsplash.
Keep what you raise. The organiser receives every contribution, even if the goal is not reached by the deadline. Backing this campaign is not an investment: you don't receive shares, interest or any other financial return.
